Taptap Send resumes after temporal halt in Ghana over their cedi remittance wallet
Taptap Send, a popular international money transfer platform, has recently resumed its operations in Ghana after a temporary halt. This pause was initially implemented due to regulatory concerns raised by the Bank of Ghana regarding the platform’s compliance with local financial regulations.
Details of the Resumption
The suspension of services was lifted on December 4, 2024, ahead of the expected one-month timeline. Following this, Taptap Send officially announced on December 9, 2024, that users can once again send money from various countries, including the UK, Europe, Canada, the United States, and the UAE, to their loved ones in Ghana. This resumption is significant for many users who rely on the platform for remittances to support family and friends back home.
With the resumption of services, Taptap Send aims to reconnect Ghanaians abroad with their families, alleviating concerns that arose during the service interruption. Users can now confidently use the platform for their money transfer needs once again.
