Samsung announces new 5G radio with integrated antennas that focuses on the new generation of mobile internet

The radio is called "One Antenna Radio" and aims to provide industry-leading performance by reducing rental and installation expenses, making the arrival of technology more accessible to companies.

Samsung recently announced its expansion in the global 5G market,in addition to indicating that it is working to anticipate the arrival of the new generation of the mobile network in the world, although it also plans to increase support for 5G by operators by launching a new radio that brings integrated antennas and allows greater portability, being possible to install it more easily.

The radio is called “One Antenna Radio” and aims to provide industry-leading performance by reducing rental and installation expenses, making the arrival of technology more accessible to companies. The device combines a massive 3.5 GHz MIMO radio with passive medium and low band antennas in a single-form factor, allowing mobile operators to expand the 5G more easily and have a reduction in operating cost, allowing you to deal with local and space challenges, as the radio occupies a small area.

We are proud to introduce our One Antenna Radio to provide industry-leading performance designed to serve multiple deployment environments. Recognizing that assembly hardware, cabling, team site time, and space limitations are a challenge for most operators, we’ve created a solution to help solve this problem and expand deployment boundaries.”

One Antenna Radio

The launch of this device by Samsung brings an interesting solution to the new network technology, without the need to connect multiple antennas and radios separately, which makes the arrival of the 5G become more viable and can reach an even larger audience in a short time.

The equipment will be integrated into the Radio Access Network (RAN) in early 2022 and will be commercially available on the European market at the first time. The South Korean did not disclose the price of the device or the average operating costs.
