How to perform a factory reset through service mode on the Canon IR2520

To resolve the “Memory Full” issue on the Canon iR 2520 or perform a factory reset on your Canon IR2520 copier through the service mode, follow these steps:

Clear Memory

  1. Cancel Current Jobs: If the message appears during a print or scan job, press the [Stop/Reset] button to cancel the job and return to standby mode
  2. Reduce Copies: If you’re making multiple copies using the Document Feeder (DADF), try reducing the number of originals being copied at one time. This can help prevent the memory from becoming overloaded

Reset the Machine

  1. Enter Service Mode:
    • Press the ‘Head’ key (the key with a star) followed by the ‘2’ and ‘8’ keys simultaneously, then press the ‘Head’ key again quickly. This will take you to the service mode.
  2. Clear Error Codes:
    • Navigate to the ‘COPIER’ section, then select ‘FUNCTION’, followed by ‘CLEAR’, and choose ‘ERR’. Confirm by pressing ‘OK’.
    • After clearing the error, turn the machine off and back on to reset it
