How to turn off frequent list on Mozilla Firefox and variants
If you are part of the user community who wish to turn off or remove the "Recent" section from the jump list in the taskbar. Here is our answer to this.
To turn off the frequent list on Firefox, you can change a hidden preference in the about:config settings. Here are the steps:
- Type “about:config” into the Firefox address bar and press Enter.
- Accept the warning message that appears.
- Locate the preference “browser.taskbar.lists.frequent.enabled” and double-click on it to change its value to false. If you do not find a list, just paste browser.taskbar.lists.frequent.enabled into the search box and hit it.
This will remove the frequently used section from the jump list. If you prefer to turn off the jump lists entirely, you can change the preference “browser.taskbar.lists.enabled” to false. Note that this will remove both the Recent and Tasks sections from the jump list.
Keep in mind that these changes are specific to the Firefox browser and may not affect the system-wide settings.
