Paystack begins implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication across platform
MFA adds an extra layer of protection for your account such that even if your password is compromised, access to your account will require authentication through a trusted third-party app, passkey, or email.

Begin from 22nd of November last week, Paystack Dashboard logins require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) whenever you attempt to access the dashboard. This means each time you log in, Paystack would send a One-Time Password (OTP) to your known email address which you would need to log into your account. The method of authentication provides an additional layer of protection of your account.
If you would like a different MFA method, like a third-party authenticator app, you can set it up easily in your Dashboard under Settings > Profile > Authentication. MFA adds an extra layer of protection for your account such that even if your password is compromised, access to your account will require authentication through a trusted third-party app, passkey, or email.
Supported Authentication Method
Paystack supports various methods for Multi-Factor Authentication:
- SMS Codes: If available, you may also opt to receive codes via SMS.
- Authenticator Apps: You can use apps like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or the Authenticator App by 2Stable. These apps generate time-sensitive codes that you will need to enter along with your password when logging in.
- Passkeys
- Emailed OTP
Multi-Factor Authentication on your Paystack account, significantly enhancing its security against unauthorized access.
