Thus making your Linux capable of running Windows exe files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are available frameworks and packages for Linux that does the trick and allow you to run your exe file. One such is Wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Running exe on Linux with Wine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Visit  the WineHQ website to <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.winehq.org\/Download\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"ek-link\">download the Wine software for free <\/a>to get started. You would have to select your version of  Linux, for instance, <a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntu.com\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Ubuntu<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debian.org\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Debian<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetwatt.com\/newforum\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Watt<\/a> or your particular version of Linux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow  the on-screen setup, and install directions from WineHQ. Each install  will vary slightly since Linux operating systems follow their own  installation processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Double-click  on the installer file. Follow the on-screen directions to install. If  the installer file does not launch, open a &#8220;T<strong>erminal Windows<\/strong>&#8221; and type  in the file directory; for example &#8220;cd ~\/Desktop&#8221; followed by &#8220;Wine  fileinstall.exe&#8221; where &#8220;fileinstall.exe&#8221; is replaced by the file name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Run  the .exe file either by going to &#8220;Applications,&#8221; then &#8220;Wine&#8221; followed  by the &#8220;Programs menu,&#8221; where you should be able to click on the file.
