This is because the device that is using that specific COM port is not really present in your system but the device driver for that device has claimed that COM port for its use. You can easily view which of the devices have been configured to use which of the COM ports in Windows by viewing the hidden devices.<\/p>\n<h2>If you want to view the hidden devices in your Windows PC, then you can follow these steps:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Press <strong>Win+R<\/strong> to open the Run dialog.<\/li>\n<li>Type <strong>devmgmt.msc<\/strong> in the Run dialog and press Enter to open the Device Manager.<\/li>\n<li>In the Device Manager window, select <strong>View<\/strong>\u00a0\u2192 <strong>Show hidden devices<\/strong> from the menubar.<\/li>\n<li>Now you will be able to see all the devices including the ones that are hidden because they are no longer present in your system.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"gtech-migrated-from-ad-inserter-placement-2\" style=\"text-align: center;\" id=\"gtech-1551250930\"><div style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\" id=\"gtech-1240648953\"><a data-bid=\"1\" data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/linkout\/78935\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"notrack\" aria-label=\"auyvc003\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2026\/03\/auyvc003.webp\" alt=\"\"  srcset=\"https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2026\/03\/auyvc003.webp 1200w, https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2026\/03\/auyvc003-768x768.webp 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\"  style=\"display: inline-block;\" \/><\/a><\/div><\/div><p>Above instructions work for Windows 8.1 and 10 without any problem.
