Microsoft is testing a new feature that will allow Xbox players to map keyboard keys to controller buttons. This feature will enable players to customize their controller layout and use keyboard keys to perform actions in supported games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new feature has been added to the latest Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead builds of the operating system, which are currently only available to members of the Xbox<\/a> Insider program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Players can only map a controller button to a single key, as well as any combination of modifier keys (Win, Shift, Ctrl, Alt).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, you could theoretically map the Share button to S on the keyboard or Ctrl+Alt+S, but not Ctrl+Alt+S+A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the patch notes for the latest Alpha version of the Xbox system, the feature of mapping the keyboard keys to the controller buttons are already working on the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 and Xbox Adaptive Controller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
