The project he created, shared on GitHub, claims to provide virtually unlimited access to OpenAI&#8217;s platform, including the previous version of GPT, without any payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large has-custom-border\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"474\" src=\"https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2023\/04\/chatgpt-1024x474.png\" alt=\"chatgpt\" class=\"wp-image-19495\" style=\"border-radius:10px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2023\/04\/chatgpt-1024x474.png 1024w, https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2023\/04\/chatgpt-300x139.png 300w, https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2023\/04\/chatgpt-768x355.png 768w, https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2023\/04\/chatgpt-1536x710.png 1536w, https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2023\/04\/chatgpt.png 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">chatgpt<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an interview with the publication, the person responsible for the project called &#8220;GPT4-Free&#8221; explained which path he followed to circumvent the demand for payment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\" style=\"border-width:1px;border-radius:10px\"><blockquote><p>A\u00a0loophole exploited in the API tricks the system with alleged access requests made by paid accounts.<br><br>\u201cReverse engineering is a domain that I\u2019ve always really liked \u2014 it\u2019s like a challenge for me,\u201d <br><br>\u201cFirst, it was for fun, but now it\u2019s to provide an alternative to people with no means to use GPT-4\/3.5.\u201d<\/p><cite><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2023\/04\/25\/a-developer-exploited-an-api-flaw-to-provide-free-access-to-gpt-4\/\">The developer, a computer science student going by the username xtekky, told TechCrunch via a Telegram DM<\/a><\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also said the project was created for &#8220;educational purposes&#8221; and intends to continue &#8220;by other means&#8221; should OpenAI block its tool.
