At first, the photo was the result of the combination of data from two of Australia&#8217;s leading radio telescopes:&nbsp;<strong>Australian Square Kilometer Array<\/strong>&nbsp;(ASKAP)&nbsp;<strong>and Parkers\/Murriyang<\/strong>. However, the intention was not exactly that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"gtech-migrated-from-ad-inserter-placement-2\" style=\"text-align: center;\" id=\"gtech-1789231823\"><div style=\"margin-right: auto;margin-left: auto;text-align: center;\" id=\"gtech-2267196450\"><a data-bid=\"1\" data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/linkout\/76065\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"notrack\" aria-label=\"26002\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2025\/10\/26002.jpg\" alt=\"\"  srcset=\"https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2025\/10\/26002.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/gtechbooster.com\/media\/2025\/10\/26002-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\"  style=\"display: inline-block;\" \/><\/a><\/div><\/div><p>This is because scientists were looking for remnants of supernovae, since the number found so far is five thousand times lower compared to what computational models can identify. So the initiative tried to find out where the remnants of this expanding cloud would be, which is the last phase of a star&#8217;s life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can be said that the idea ended up working, since the number of remnants of possible supernovae identified exceeded 20, and until then the researchers had found only seven. Likewise, there are the places where the new stars are forming and finally the focus of all the measure taken by scientists: the remnants of supernovae. The region analyzed is equivalent to 20% of the entire Milky Way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Astrophysicist&nbsp;<em>Andrew Hopkins<\/em>&nbsp;is leading&nbsp;<em>the<\/em>&nbsp;Emu Program and aims to &#8220;make the best radio atlas in the Southern Hemisphere.&#8221; In this sense, the project will be able to measure 40 million new distant galaxies and supermassive black holes.
