In Ghana we work with the National Health Insurance Authority, where we raise funds for people in high-need communities, for them to be registered under the NHIS and to have the accsess to medical treatment anytime they are sick for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We really want to be %100 sustainble by forming corporate partnerships and accepting tips on our platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n No. We are very new and in the process of getting a 501(c)(3)status which will make your donations tax deductible. For now, we hope you can support a patients or classroom supplies for children in need with as little as $5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n I was in my room and my mom came to me and asked for 20 Ghana cedis ($5 USD), to help take a man she called my brother to the hospital, because his sickness was getting worse and his family could not afford to take him to the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I told my mother that the man has a wife and sister older than I am so why is she asking me? But I also told the truth that I had no money. She silently left and a week later she came up to me, and told me that the man had died. I was in shock, upset and distraught. <\/p>\n\n\n\n I couldn\u2019t help but think that this could happen to someone in my family, or a family close to me, and so I decided I had to do something about it. The next day, I visited clinics in nearby villages and spoke to the nurses and their patients about the major problems they are facing, and began drafting ideas how I could provide an appropriate solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meet people in need of access to healthcare or find a classroom request that inspires you and donate as low as $5 to make it possible for them.<\/p> When a campaign is fully funded, we transfer funds to the healthcare partner once treatment is confirmed. For health insurance, we do the registration for the person. When a classroom request is fully funded, we buy all requested materials and send them directly to the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We send you solid updates like photos, videos, cost receipt and thank you letters.You will know the impact you have made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We know that you care about how effectively your donation is being used. As such, many will seek alternative healthcare methods in villages with traditional healers, which can have detrimental effects on the patient and delay access to care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There is a lack of basic life-saving healthcare equipment available in Africa to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate patients. The World Health Organization estimates that between 50 and 80% of medical equipment is out of service in low-income countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n School children are not learning because of a lack of instructional materials and supplies in our public school classrooms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Using their African Learning Barometer tool, the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institute estimates 37 million African children are learning so little in school that there is no value add to their education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NB: Crowdfrica is a registered and Data Protection Compliant entity at the Ghana DPC<\/a><\/p>\n
