It&#8217;s important to find a balance between delaying updates and keeping your computer up-to-date and secure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Delay updates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In Windows 10, you can delay updates from being installed for up to 35 days. Here are the steps you can follow to delay Windows Updates longer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open Windows Settings by clicking on the Start menu and selecting the gear icon, or by pressing the Windows key + I on your keyboard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on &#8220;Update &amp; Security&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the &#8220;Windows Update&#8221; tab on the left-hand side.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under &#8220;Update settings&#8221;, click on &#8220;Advanced options&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under &#8220;Pause updates&#8221;, select the date up to which you want to pause updates. You can choose a date up to 35 days in the future.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To delay updates for a longer amount of time, you can create a Group Policy to defer feature updates. Here are the steps:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> a. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>b. Type in &#8220;<code>gpedit.msc<\/code>&#8221; and press Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>c. Navigate to Computer Configuration &gt; Administrative Templates &gt; Windows Components &gt; Windows Update. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>d. Find the &#8220;Select when Preview Builds and Feature Updates are received&#8221; policy and double-click on it. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>e. Select the &#8220;Enabled&#8221; option. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>f. In the &#8220;Options&#8221; section, select the number of days to defer feature updates. The maximum value is 365 days. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>g.
