Perhaps because you reset your device, mistakenly wiped your contacts or bought a new device. You begin to ask the “Please who is this ” question as you respond to messages and calls. Whichever way it is; the solution is here.

1. Account Sync

This method requires that you are signed into an account that support contact synchronization (ie. Gmail, Outlook etc.). Goto settings –> Account and Sync –> click sync and bingo. All the contact are back.

2. Backup to SD

Goto contacts –> Menu –> More –> Import/Export –> Select Export –> Select Phone or Sim or as Applicable –> Select SD Card –> Next. All Done.

A VCF file is exported to your SD Card. The next time you need it just import it. Follow the video tutorial below to backup to your sdcard.
